Saskia Spitzer and Jasmin Wloka report on the use of the high promiscuity of phenyltransferase NphB for the synthesis of cannabigerolic acid derivatives and their precursors. Using in silico experiments, they were able to study the binding modes of different substrates and predict the substrate acceptance of phenyltransferase NphB. This made it possible to synthesize an extensive library of olivetolic acid derivatives.
