Today Fabian has successfully defended his PhD and we would like to congratulate him very warmly. During his PhD at IBOC, Fabian Hogenkamp did research on optogenetic tools that can be used to optimize expression systems in a highly efficient way. Together with colleagues from our sister institute -the IMET- light-inducible expression inducers and repressors were developed. We thank Fabian for the great time as a colleague, for his constant kindness, the extremely competent balance between chemistry and biology, and for the great collaborations with colleagues from next door.
