Once again this year, IBOC impressed in the Heine Research Academies' ‘Part of Research’ calendar competition! The competition, now in its tenth year, invites all HHU institutes to showcase their research from a new, creative perspective.
Our institute will be represented in the upcoming 2026 calendar with a joint contribution by Viktoria Warth, Andreas Sebastian Klein and Irene Küberl. Our submitted image shows a laboratory fume cupboard, colourfully decorated with little treasures from everyday laboratory life – and a few surprising details. Hidden between creative order and scientific chaos are, among other things, four potatoes from our alkaloid research – and, of course, the number 10 as a tribute to the competition's anniversary.
Our colleague Lena Müller from the Institute of Molecular Enzyme Technology (IMET) was also successful: her picture shows a green fluorescent Petri dish with a drawn astronaut – a poetic snapshot that reminds us that even a failed experiment can sometimes shine in the right light.
We are delighted about this joint success and congratulate everyone involved on their successful blend of science and creativity!
