First doctoral defense 2022
Congratulations Patrick

Our dear colleague Patrick Ullrich has successfully completed his doctorate today. We would like to congratulate him warmly on this. He defended his thesis with a thematic focus on tetrol-protected allyl boronates, which resulted in two publications as first author. With him, our currently last active boron chemist leaves the institute.
In laboratory 3004 Patrick was especially involved as laboratory manager and used his administrative skills to create clear structures. He also liked to create a good atmosphere, whereby his unique taste in music and his open-hearted manner elicited a smile from almost everyone. If this failed to happen, a hug followed. It was also a pleasure to discuss chemical issues with Patrick, which he frequently demonstrated in Cheminar and Seminar.
Dear Patrick, we wish you all the best for your future and hope that the IBOC will remain in good memory.
