Successful doctorate
Congratulations Moritz

On 27 September 2024, we were able to accompany Moritz Klischan on his last step towards his doctorate. Moritz, who had been with us at the Institute since the end of 2019, worked on 8,8'-biflavones in the “Team Biaryl”. His work has resulted in five publications to date. During his doctorate, he spent a three-month research stay in Toronto with Prof Lautens at the University of Toronto, where he worked on the topic of ‘multi-component palladium catalysis’.

Over the years, we all got to know Moritz as a very focussed, helpful and humorous colleague who will be greatly missed. We also particularly admired his creativity, which he was able to demonstrate in the embellishment of various fume hoods and in the Heinrich Heine University calendar competition, among other things.

Last Friday, Moritz was finally able to successfully defend his doctoral thesis, for which we congratulate him warmly. Well done Moritz!

We will miss you and wish you all the best in your private and professional life (Moritz has been working at Henkel in Düsseldorf for a few months now).
