We are very pleased to be able to report on an exciting cooperation within the region. Marius Hoffmann from RWTH Aachen and Marc R. Hayes from our institute jointly investigated the multivalent binding capacity between the Thomson-Friedenreich antigen and galactin-3. The interaction between the TF-antigen and galactins is significantly involved in tumor cell aggregation, cancer metastasis and T-cell apoptosis in epithelial tissue.
