From 11 to 13 June 2025, our internal retreat took place once again at the Stolzenberg leisure centre in Wermelskirchen – with a full programme, good discussions and plenty of exercise in the fresh air.
The focus was on presentations by our second-year doctoral students, who presented their current research projects and publication strategies. These were complemented by workshops on internal organisational topics, the results of which were presented and discussed in plenary sessions.
Of course, there was also plenty of time for socialising: game evenings, a themed party entitled ‘Schnelle Brille’ (Fast Glasses), spontaneous mini creative sessions, sporting activities and team games ensured that there was plenty of variety. The joint hike to the Sengbachtal Dam (Sengbachtalsperre) and the subsequent barbecue on the green meadow have almost become a tradition.
