Jörg Pietruszka in May 2024

This month we are celebrating a very special event: on 30 November 2004, Jörg Pietruszka was appointed C-4 Professor at Heinrich Heine University, which also marked the founding of the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry.
We are all very happy about this anniversary and are grateful for the past years full of wonderful and successful moments. Jörg Pietruszka has an inspiring passion for nature and drug synthesis and we are all happy that we have been able to participate in his research and his endeavours to build a bridge between biology and chemistry.

His tireless commitment to the interests of the institute and its employees (many thanks for the always open office door) as well as to the cooperation within the HHU and the research centre is invaluable.
With the kind support of his long-time companion Karl-Erich Jaeger and the organisers of Biotech Day Jülich, we were able to surprise him today with a small gift of recognition. Many thanks to Mr Jaeger for his kind words.

All of us at the Institute are happy and proud to have a curious, open and friendly boss like you, dear Jörg, at our side. We look forward to many more years of collaboration and exciting research and thank you for everything you have done and will continue to do for us and the Institute. Congratulations on your anniversary! :)
