The enantioselective methylation of indoles is an important tool in the production of natural product derivatives. Dianai Amariei explored methyltransferase variants and their mechanism in cooperation with colleagues from HHU and the Forschunsgzentrum Jülich. The result is a more robust preparative process that works without adding S-adenosyl methionine.
