New publication
Plant protection through synergy

Based on the work of Dorothea Kossmann and Moritz Weber, a study on a new application of prodiginines is available to read this week.

In this study, non-natural prodiginines were produced in the bacterium P. putida. Afterwards, they were applied to plants and tested on whether the plant was thus protected from infection by parasites. While the prodiginines did reduce the infectiousness of H. schachtii on their own, a synergetic effect was observed if rhamnolipids were applied at the same time.

Congratulations on the publication! We are thankful for our cooperation partners from the institute of Molecular Enyme Technology, as well as from the University of Bonn and RWTH Aachen. The publication can be accessed here.
