A complete success for the IBOC
Internal retreat in Wermelskirchen

Zoom

From June 4 to 7, the IBOC's annual internal retreat took place in Wermelskirchen. This event was filled with discussion-rich lecture sessions and convivial evenings that further strengthened the sense of community within the institute.

After breakfast, the days began with exciting presentations focusing on doctoral students' publication strategies and the Institute's comprehensive range of methods. These presentations provided valuable insights and new impulses for the scientific work of the entire team. The discussions following the presentations were particularly enriching and will certainly help to develop innovative approaches for future projects.

In addition to the scientific program, there were also plenty of leisure activities. Barbecue and games evenings provided an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas and relax. An annual highlight is table tennis in the cellar.

The group also went on a hike together to Schloss Burg, which not only provided physical exercise but also plenty of good conversation. Another highlight was the themed evening on Wednesday with the theme "Anyone but you" IBOC Edition. Here, the participants appeared in creative costumes, with many (unsurprisingly) choosing the heads of the institute as their model. One large group dressed as "NMR tubes" and "NMR device" was particularly eye-catching and caused many laughs.

Many thanks to the organizing team consisting of Marisa, Viktoria and Simon, whose excellent planning and execution made this retreat a wonderful experience.

We are already looking forward to next year and the many new ideas and inspirations that this retreat has generated!
