Current publikations at IBOC

We are very pleased to announce two publications from the pen of Pascal Schneider, which were realized within the joint project CKB. We are particularly proud of his publication in Angewandten Chemie (Int. Ed.), where he was able to publish his extensive results on the SAM-dependent methyltransferase PsmD and the biocatalytic synthesis of bioactive pyrroloindoles (including physostigmine) optimised by means of design-of-experiment.  Another access to physostigmine was achieved in cooperation with Lea Winand from the TU Dortmund. Using a mutasynthesis approach in Myxococcus xanthus, various physostigmine derivatives could be synthesised, including the drug candidate phenserine. The results of this study were published in Organic Letters. Congratulations to all the people involved.
