Natural Compound Synthesis

Research in the field of natural compound totalsynthesis can be devided into two distinct directions. On the one hand there is the method oriented synthesis using elegant, "homemade" methods as well as reagents to obtain key intermediates. On the other hand there is a target oriented synthesis, in which the particular natural compound and analoga of them are the focus of the research. Both, the method oriented and the target oriented approach are in the focus of IBOC's research. Besides, very prominent representatives such as Psymberin, Solandelactones and Constanolactones as well as (neo)-halicholactones, sugar-based natural compunds such as Sophorose- and Rhamnolipids have been produced and investigated with the aforementioned foci.
